Sage & Lore takes a unique approach to counseling that focuses on empowering persons seeking services to make positive changes in their lives. Collaboratively with client engagement, a narrative therapy approach is utilized to develop personalized treatment plans that address specific needs and goals. Petra has been on both sides of the mental health journey and holds to the 'wounded healer' philosophy. This approach celebrates those who have been wounded in such a way as to become healers for others.
If you are experiencing relationship issues or struggling with personal challenges, Sage & Lore may be right for you. In this safe and supportive environment, you are encouraged to explore your thoughts and feelings and develop the skills to improve your relationships and overall well-being. If you feel this is not the right fit for you, services can be canceled, and resources will be provided for clients to seek other support. Sage & Lore is not committed to finding an alternate provider or responsible for doing so. However, efforts will be made to assist as much as possible.
Sage & Lore provides counseling services for individuals of all ages, including children, adolescents, and adults.
There is a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, stress management, and more, that can be addressed during counseling sessions. Petra will work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your unique needs and goals.
During your first session, your therapist will ask questions to get to know you better and understand what brings you to counseling. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions about the counseling process. This can last more than one session and is tailored to the client's needs. In these initial exploratory sessions, we discuss what you hope to gain from therapy and what has motivated you to seek support. This provides context and future points of reference during sessions.
A typical counseling session at Sage & Lore lasts for 50 minutes, although some sessions may be longer or shorter depending on your needs and preferences.
Various counseling services are available, including individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, trauma, team building, life coaching, and group therapy.
You can book an appointment with Petra via Sage & Lore by calling the office at 978.310.1212 or by filling out an online booking form on this website under contact in the header.
The time it takes to see results from counseling sessions with Sage & Lore varies depending on the individual and the issues being addressed. Some clients may see improvements after just a few sessions, while others may require longer-term therapy.
The frequency of counseling sessions with Sage & Lore will depend on your needs and goals. Some clients may benefit from weekly sessions, while others may attend bi-weekly or monthly. This will be decided collaboratively after a thorough assessment and evaluation is complete. Sessions may begin every week and, after a month or two, shift to a bi-weekly or even monthly basis.
Sage & Lore does not accept insurance. Bypassing the corporate guidelines allows therapeutic sessions to be person-centered and influenced by the client's needs. Insurance panels require clients to be given a diagnosis even when one may be inappropriate. Also, diagnoses go on record in the medical files of the clients, which is a second reason not to accept insurance. Payment is due at the time of service. If your insurance desires a Superbill ( a receipt), one can be provided to help you in seeking potential reimbursement. You will need to contact your insurance provider to assess coverage parameters. If necessary, an Out-of-network invoice can be created for you at no extra charge. The cost of a counseling session at Sage & Lore varies based on the type of service you require. Don't hesitate to contact our office for more pricing information.
While it is ideal for both partners to attend counseling, it is possible to progress in therapy even if only one partner participates. Petra can work with you to develop strategies for improving your relationship and supporting your partner's involvement in the future.

Recommended Tips for a Successful Telehealth Session:
Life is unpredictable, and things just can't always be planned for. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please get in touch with the office at least 48 hours before your appointment. This allows space for someone else who may be waiting. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, you will be charged the full fee for your missed session. If the guidelines for telehealth sessions are not met, you are still subject to a full session fee. Frequent canceling or rescheduling may result in refusal of future appointments.
